Unpleasant glimpse from my ex blog

Visited LiveJournal just now after the year break. My God, what it's become! How come its full of my university mates and old neighbours? Well, I wouldn't complain if there were no mostly unpleasant ones. People reposting some old news from the web, telling how lucky they are downloading "Playing The Angel" in 320 kbps, with moronic userpics and bios. A huge pile of absolutely senseless posts, personal matters being sorted out, lone sufferers convincing they are happy.

God save me from those.

I love this Last.FM blog much more than any other one. I know it's silent and if you aren't writing about popular stuff, you'll stay unnoticed, but from some point I'm glad that if I write about some album, my ex classmate won't come to check how I am and whether I'm already married or not yet.

Rock Is Dead (?)

I guess rock music died approximately at the same time when Beavis & Butthead show ceased to be. There is no more protest in rock music, the concept of industry slightly goes away to per track scheme. People go to the Stones or McCartney concerts like to the museum where they see legends flowing in formalin. In the world of music RIAA has a bigger popularity than great artists like TV Eyes. Despite they say Sigur Ros or Explosions in the Sky are best post rock examples, actually all modern rock music is post rock, literally - what exists after rock. From some point it is sad, because we'll probably never see a new Axel Rose or Syd Barrett - just because such a madman will never find a common language with any manager nowawdays. And now it's more important who you are than what you do, for instance, Bono "is" more Mother Teresa than he "does" write wonderful music and his neverending photos in the Rolling Stone magazine with the Pope or with G. W. Bush is what generates sales for U2 a lot. I find that shameful and let the band drop off my Top40, although I used to adore them for The Joshua Tree and Zooropa.

Probably that doesn't matter at all while there is good music on earth, I would agree with that. Yet I've watched last rock heroes Beavis & Butthead recently, with the music video fragments and stuff and it became obvious - 2000s are definitely not 1990s.

Lifelines

Little Britain is over and that's for good now. It was very sad too see how it all ends; Little Britain was a video score to my personal year 2005.

Blood pressure affects music taste a lot. This theory explains why I'm so much into melancholic music.

There's got to be some reasonable ratio between work and rest, otherwise there'll be constant blackouts in a working process.

I like to deep fry things only because it's fast. It's not so tasty and it's not cheap at all (my electric bill from the last month is a good proof). However, regular seafood soups that I learned to cook are amazing.

There are some music hits around but for some reason I don't pay much attention to them, preferring some ethnic music, mostly asian. Which carries no meaning of "hit", of course.

Beavis & Butthead are more than super.
- The 21st century we're about to enter will be a century of technological progress and many social achievements.
- He-he, he said "enter".

Now, waiting for some good things which, I believe, are ahead.
